Academic and Professional Profile

I graduated from Devry Institute – Atlanta, Georgia in 1978 with an ASEET. At that time Devry did not have a BS program at the Atlanta campus. I took a few math and humanities courses at Phoenix Collge (now Maricopa College in 1982). Most of my early work experience was in the electronics industry. Defense contractors were my principle employer. Computer hardware was the specialty. I also worked commercial computer manufacturing.

In the early 1990’s I needed career change. I took a job working as an electrical helper. I wanted to learn something about the field. My intention was to supplement the background I already had. I wrote the self-published work, Calendars of Creation during 1992. My early home PC was running windows 3.1 without any user group connections. By 1995 I had joined the ranks of AOL membership and the next wave of technology.

I created my first personal version of the timeemits.com website in 1996. Early versions of website development limited the size and content of the home page. I progressively added parts of the book over the next four years. All the while, I was discovering how to be a webmaster without formal education. Soon I had purchased the domain at timeemits.com and transferred the site to new hosting at netfirms.com. I divided the book into several sections. Editing was necessary to suit internet formats.

I decided to return to school to finish my Bachelor of Science degree in the spring of 2003. I chose the high tech curriculum at Devry University, Orlando. Some freshman and junior level had to be completed since the curriculums had changed. Completion of the summer 2003 term will begin the senior year for me. Concentrating on IT courses and MS office training nicely fit with self-study for the timeemits.com website. I graduated with honors in October, 20004 with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management (BSTM).

I have worked as an electrician during the last eight years. I am Journeyman certified, and have experience with low voltage wiring for local codes. Occasionally I had part-time telemarketing or related sales jobs. Shifting my schedule to days and enrollment in a heavy class load required I accept an IT consultant position. My major focused on telecommunications, networking and IT. I supplemented my education with business that suits the major. The company I am now working for is growing at a phenomenal rate. My independent contractor status enables me to choose hours and work from home via the internet. Timeemits.com continues to grow with updates, affiliations and new webmaster duties. As independent contractor, I can accept new work upon request.

I have added traditional and alternative energy savings to my background portfolio. My study of solar power, etc. continues to offer new opportunity. My latest contract endeavor saves lighting energy by using commercial occupancy sensors. Ceiling sensors “see” anyone within a radius of about 25 feet. Wall switch sensors replace ordinary switches. Single pole or 3-way versions are available and most are adjustable. Some use sonic sensing combined with ambient lighting levels. Follow these emerging new and retrofit marketplace trends for optimum savings.
